Over 900 motorists booked

More than 900 infringement notices were issued to motorists after two weeks of a nation-wide operation.

Operation Sa Rauta, was a joint initiative by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Fiji Police Force to combat increasing violations of road rules by people.

LTA public relations officer Vera Wedlock said 2329 vehicles were checked during the operation around the country.

Out of this, 305 vehicle owners of public service vehicles (PSVs) were issued with defect orders and 1004 defect orders issued for the other classes.
