Chandu Umaria

Narayan Reddy

Chandra Umaria has to be the ‘Administrator of the Year.’
He has been a good example as a city father from the time he was mayor of Suva.
With all the extra rates collected, he now promises better service delivery.
Anyway, I heard that a special administrator has bought a new car.
The town has only one street measuring about 1.5 kilometres long. Does he really need a special vehicle?
We have been encouraged to keep healthy and I believe if the special administrator walks the street often, he can be a shining example to the people.
Perhaps he could take a leaf out of Mr Umaria’s book and add some more value to his little town.
To conclude, could we have publicised reports every so often from the various towns and cities so that we can see the progress. After all it is our rates that support the municipalities.
We only see reports from Suva, Nasinu and Lautoka.
What about the other towns? I’m sure many people living abroad would like to read about their home town.
