The Naviti Resort is moving quite rapidly with its expansion plans to add 60 Eco Lodges to the existing property on the Coral Coast.
The Naviti Resort forms part of the Warwick International Group.
Warwick Group (Pacific) vice president and chief operating officer Nick Hortle said the Eco Lodges would be individual villas built entirely from local materials and powered largely from renewable energy.
The Eco Lodges would be a separate yet joint resort together with the Naviti Resort.
Mr Hortle said: “It will offer guests a truly green experience where we embrace the latest in technologies and environmentally friendly solutions.
“At the same time, guests at this resort would be able to share some of this with the larger adjoining Naviti Resort,” he said.
And the expansion will not stop just at that.
Mr Hortle revealed that current enhancements and expansion includes substantial works to be undertaken on the beach expanding the Salusalu Bar, Nukunuku Restaurant and Wasawasa Restaurant.
The resort also plans to improve beach volleyball and water sports and all other aspects of their products that will be a unique and wonderful experience for guests at the resort.
“The investment in the Eco Lodges and the restaurant as well as additional enhancement to the rest of the existing property would be substantial.
“Once again there is testimony to the commitment of the Warwick Group to investment for the long term and the future of tourism and the people of Fiji,” he said.
Mr Hortle stressed their commitment to the long term prospects for tourism in Fiji.
“The expansion and upgrade would significantly enhance the ability of our Naviti Resort to showcase its products,” he said.
Mr Hortle said the Naviti Resort has always offered extremely competitive deals to the local market.
“Particularly during the times of the year when our international guests do not have the capacity or ability to travel due to school holidays or due to work commitments and so forth.
“In this way, we allow the locals to experience the unique and special products of the Naviti Resort,” he said.
The tourism industry in Fiji is no doubt doing exceptionally well and as for the Naviti Resort, they have more families and also groups booked for conferences or workshops.
“Not only they are here for conferences, but also they are here to treat their families and experience the hospitality Naviti Resort has to offer,” he said.
The Australia market remains the main country the resort’s guests are from followed by New Zealand.
Mr Hortle, however, noted that Asia, Europe, United States and United Kingdom markets were also picking up.
“The Naviti Resort will always remain the forefront of offering our guests a high quality experience at a very affordable price that gives them a piece of mid.
“We are all things to all people, all inclusive,” he said.
Also included in the Group’s properties in Fiji are Warwick Fiji Resort and Spa and the Tambua Sands.
