Westpac recently donated $10,000, out of the $100,000 the bank had given to help with flood relief efforts, to the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children (FENC).
The Westpac team, in partnership with FENC, recently distributed school stationery to affected children in the West to assist affected children continue with their education.
Westpac’s general manager, Adrian Hughes said: “Our team and I visited affected areas and had seen first-hand the widespread devastation in the West.
“Our team in the West happily obliged to assist with deliveries. It was also a chance for them to meet the children and experience the impact that our assistance had made.”
Immediately after the floods, Westpac announced their disaster relief package for customers. Affected customers are encouraged to visit their nearest Westpac branch or contact the call centre to discuss the most appropriate financial options.
“We are continuing to encourage our flood-affected customers to come in and talk to determine the most appropriate and responsible solution for their circumstances,” Mr Hughes said.
