The State has been given one more month to finalise all documents related to charges of sedition being faced by five accused in the Suva Magistrates Court.
Jagath Karunaratne, Mosese Bulitavo, Eroni Takape, Usaia Koroi and Waisale Daganayasi had denied the charge of one count of sedition.
State prosecutor, Lisiate Fotofili, told the court they needed more time because the police investigating team needed to further investigate the charges faced by the five.
Mr Fotofili presented the investigating officer of the case, Corporal Kalusi Seru, to state why his team needed more time.
Corporal Seru told the court that his team had to prioritise the investigation of the break-in at the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department two weeks ago and a murder case last month.
He told the court that they lacked manpower and resources and therefore needed to work on priority cases.
Upon cross examination by defence lawyers Rajendra Chaudhry and John Rabuku, Corporal Seru told the court that the delay was with theĀ  police team and not on the part of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case will now be called on July 26 to set a hearing date of voir dire application made by the defence.
