Lami ratepayers taken to task

The Lami Town council will pursue legal action to recover outstanding rates.
According to town administrator Jasper Singh the council was yet to collect 44.5 percent of total rates.
Singh said there is no amnesty period set by the council to help ratepayer’s with payments.
He said: “The council is yet to collect 44.5per cent worth of rates and arrears as of last month.”
The town council currently serves a total of 22,000 people in the municipality.
Singh is the first volunteer administrator in Fiji.
