Boxers, officials urged to register

The Boxing Commission of Fiji has called on boxers and officials to make use of the registration process, which is now underway in Suva.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, BCF chairman John Rabuku said that since they have started last week no boxer and official have been registered.
“I know this is a sort of Fijian way where we always leave things to the last minute,” he said.
“I urge all boxers and officials living in Suva and nearby areas to come forward and register.”
Rabuku said the registration licensing of stakeholders would run for a five-week period, which is from June 12 to July 10.
“All boxers and officials who register within this period will be given a discount and they must make use of the opportunity.”
He said the registration process is held at the new BCF office at the Fiji Sports Council gym in Suva.
For the Western Division it is from June 25-29 at the NASA Military Camp in Nadi. For Vanua Levu it is from July 2-4 while the venue is yet to be confirmed.
The BCF stated that from 9am-4pm will be for the registration/licensing, and free medical board offered to boxers only.
Other registration requirements are:  Boxers – three passport size photos current; original birth certificate and records of fights (wins, losses and draws).  Other stakeholders – three passport size photo current, original birth certificate; and records of skills, training and courses attended.
Discounted Registration/Licensing Fees will be offered to those who are Registered/Licensed during the 5 week period.  After the 5 week period, standard fees will apply:

Boxers fees (Standard)

Licensing Fee – Annual      FJ$50

Boxers fees (Discounted)    
Registration for Life    FJ$70
Licensing Fee – Annual    FJ$30

Boxing Officials (Standard)    
Registration (Referees & Judges) – Annual    FJ$50
Registration (Managers & Officials – Annual    FJ$50
Registration (Coaches) – Annual                   FJ$50
Registration (Corner Men) – Annual    FJ$50

Boxing Officials (Discounted)    
Registration (Referees & Judges) – 5 years    FJ$150
Registration (Managers & Officials – 5 years    FJ$150
Registration (Coaches) – 5 years                   FJ$150
Registration (Corner Men) – 5 years    FJ$150
