Seven players who have represented the Fiji Residents side have flown to Australia to take up their contracts.
This was confirmed by Fiji National Rugby League development officer Joe Rabele.
“There are two more players who are putting together their application as they are needed by a country club in Australia,” Rabele said.
He said the players who have left are Etuate Tagicakibau, Aporosa Vosataki, Lasaro Turagadrau, Jone Sariri, Viliame Rakuli, Peniasi Wakawaka, Iliesa Takubu, Jone Nadrau, Semesa Cadrakilagi and Semisi Tora.
“Last weekend two more local players were recruited. They are Timoci Yauvoli and Aborosio Delaimoala.”
Rabele said this was a good opportunity for the players to get exposed to a higher level of competition.
