Completed in the nick of time, the opening and commissioning of the Navo railway bridge in Nadi yesterday brought a flood of relief to the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC), cane growers and Government.
The Navo line was tested two weeks ago and completed just ahead of the beginning of the crushing season in Lautoka on Monday.
Speaking at the rail bridge’s commissioning, chief guest and Permanent Secretary for Sugar Colonel Manasa Vaniqi said there were questions raised after the bridge was washed away by intense floods in March.
