Foster’s netters aim to set pace

Under the guidance of a former Silver Fern, the Cook Islands netball team are optimistic of a better outing in the 2012 LICI Pacific Netball Series. It begins tomorrow at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
Coach Margaret Foster is optimistic of clinching the PNS title on Friday.
Having finished second last year, the side is banking on their training matches with some netball clubs in Auckland to help the players set the pace in the three-day tourney.
“We are training very well and we are just trying to get the players acclimatised to the weather,” she said.
Foster was appointed as head coach of the Cook Islands netball development squad last year. And this year she has given her assistance to help the Cook Islands senior team in their quest for glory.
“The team bonding sessions that we had at the naval base in Auckland was pretty intense.
“And it also helped us to be more disciplined.
I’ve not really seen or know the Samoa side. Bu I’m confident with the players that I have here,” she said.
Cook Islands will face Samoa at 5pm on Wednesday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
