The Vanuatu Under-21 team is happy after going down 31-65 to the Fiji U21 in the LICI Pacific Netball Series tier two competition yesterday.
Vanuatu coach Beverly Ligo said the two straight losses did not disappoint her.
“We have been looking forward to this tournament,” Ligo said.
“We have been training for three months and I’m not disappointed with my girls. They have played according to plan and our aim is to improve our performance from the previous years and this was a good start for us.
“These girls are here for good exposure and they are learning fast from this competition.”
Ligo stated she was happy that they were able to hold Fiji’s 60 point mark.
“We nailed Fiji to the 60 point and we will improve in the next Pacific Netball Series.
“I salute my defenders tonight for their hardwork.”
Fiji coach Moape Vu praised the consistency of his players.
“I’m very proud of my players even though we committed blunders but I was satisfied with their overall performance.”
