Fiji FA warns on Canada invitation
By ANASILINI RATUVA
Players who intend to be part of the Fiji Invitational side to take part in the Fiji Day Celebrations in Surrey, Canada this month will be taken to task.
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Bob Kumar says the tournament is not a Fiji FA sanctioned tournament and therefore any district players who will participate will face disciplinary actions from their districts and Fiji FA.
“The organisers of the tournament have not sought any release whatsoever from Fiji FA,”Kumar said.
“So if players go, they will face the consequences. So my advice to them is, don’t tour.”
Kumar added all district teams are gearing up for the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants and no tournament can come and ruin the district preparation and focus.
“Everyone is looking forward to the Inkk Mobile BOG tournament and all districts are preparing well for that, we do not want any disturbance from outside to shift the focus offshore,” Kumar said.
Former national soccer skipper Abdul Mannan and former Rewa and national player Patrick Wise are working on putting an Invitational side together.
