Northland wins home derby

By RITESH KUMAR

Northland coach Ilivasi Tabua is confident they will qualify for the semifinals in the Digicel Cup competition.
This was after the side defeated Tavua 15-10 at Gatward Park in Korovou yesterday.
“Our aim is to qualify for the semifinals and we will do our best to win our next two games”, Tabua said.
“The two games will be crucial for us and we need to lift our performance.
“We committed some mistakes because of  a wet surface.
“We need to be prepared and adapt to the conditions.”
Tavua led 5-3 at halftime and in the second half Northland put up a brave performance to win 15-10.
Northland will play Rewa next week in their away game and hosts Nadroga on July 28.
Northland now moves to sixth position with 22 points.
