Fiji FACT champions Suva hits a skid in the preparations for the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament which starts on Sunday.
Senior reps Sedrick Dutt, Joseph Mishra, Samuela Vula and Nathan Kumar have yet to join the squad in camp.
“It’s really sad for us as we are still waiting for these four key players to report to training,” Suva coach Gurjit Singh said.
“As FACT champions our preparations is not going well in the first week of training which started on Monday.
SUNsports understands the players are trying to decide whether to take part in the BOG or take part in the Fiji Day celebrations in Vancouver next week. And one of the players has been lured to join Rewa for the B.O.G.
“We are stilling waiting for these players to turn up for camp at Laucala Beach and start training as we don’t have much time to prepare,” Singh said.
“Twelve players are in camp and we are still waiting for the others along with these four players to join the camp and start training with the team,” Singh said. The first round of the B.O.G. kicks off next Sunday at Subrail Park while the tournament proper begins at Churchill Park from July 26-29.
Suva plays Nadi in its opening match at 9am. The side is in Pool Two with Lautoka, Navua and Nadi.
