Hekari United Football Club players Wira Wama and Kema Jack will join Labasa on Saturday.
And Labasa soccer team manager Kunal Naidu has confirmed that nine players have joined the team since the transfer window opened.
“We now have 22 players altogether of which 11 are our local boys,”Naidu said.
Naidu said the players include Kavaia Rawaqa, Ilisoni Logaivau, Maciu Dunadamu, Ilaitia Tuilau, Pita Bolaitoga, Taniela Waqa, Misaele Draunibaka and Posiano Kalisito who will now play for their home district.
“The squad is a mixture of senior and young players and they boost our chance of winning the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament.”
He said, like any other team, they were looking

“We want to win not for ourselves but for our fans and the people of Labasa.”
Naidu said Babasiga Lions fans in Suva and in the Western division funded their preparation for the annual tourney.
“We are just the interim officials but the support given by our fans in the West and Suva is very encouraging.”
As for their fans, Naidu is calling on their fans to make every effort to head down to the grounds and show their support for the Suva team.
“If you can’t make it to Subrail Park in Labasa, then come to Lautoka.”
The Labasa Football Association has also requested fans to come out in large numbers on Sunday wearing red and white.
“We are relying on home support this Sunday,” Naidu said.
