Suva Football Association received a $5000 cheque from All Freight Logistics  (AFL) which will boost their preparation ahead of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament on Sunday.
The capital side will now be known as AFL Suva this year.
AFL operations and sales executive Jean-Pierre Lihoreau said this was the first time for them to sponsor Suva and would not be the  last.
“We see how important sports is in the country. This is not the first time we are sponsoring a sports team,” he said.
“We supported the National Under-21 netball team for the Pacific Netball Series.
“This sponsorship is not the last for Suva Football.”
Suva Football president Mahendra Prasad said they were confident of winning the 2012 Inkk Mobile BOG again.
“With this sponsorship it is going assist us in buying players’ boots and pay their allowances.
“We acknowledge AFL for their act of kindness.
“We guarantee AFL that we will give our 100 per cent to win the tournament,” he said.
