No Krishna for Labasa

By LOSIRENE CHAND

Labasa Football Association cannot afford to bring Roy Krishna to play in the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament.
Association interim president Bhim Reddy says it’s only reasonable that they leave out the national striker who plays for Waitakere United in New Zealand because they can’t afford him.
“Fans must understand that we can’t afford to pay Roy to play for Labasa,” Reddy said.
“The demand is too high. But we have the players who will play for the Babasiga Lions with a lot of heart with no condition attached.”
He said they will stick with 22 players for the season.
“We actually had 18 boys for the squad but I decided to have another four players included as it would be better to take extra boys for the long run.”
Reddy said their first game against Rewa would be a tough one and they are not underestimating any team.
“The Delta Tigers are the defending champions and we are looking forward to the first match.”
Reddy also confirmed that they have released National soccer midfielder Samuela Kautoga play for Suva.
Reddy has confirmed Suva Football has paid $5000 for Kautoga’s release,
