A 69 year old unemployed man has been arrested and is now charged for allegedly impersonating the Minister for Education, Filipe Bole and obtaining property by deception.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said that the accused managed to obtain a Laptop worth $650.00 from an electronics company and 70 gross of BH 10 cigarettes to the total value of $44000.00 from supermarkets.
“He made the orders over phone and arranged for another accused to pick up the items.”
Ms Naisoro said that further attempts over the phone were also made at other shops during this month. Police investigations continue on the case.
The accused will appear in court tomorrow.
