Lautoka finishes third at B.O.G

By EPINERI VULA

Lautoka has won $2000 after finishing third in the Superpremier Division of the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants at Churchill Park.

Defender Isikeli Jeke Keli struck after the breather to give Lautoka the win in the first third/fourth playoff at a Fiji Football Association-sanctioned tournament.

Lautoka and Nadi were locked 0-0 at half-time.

Both teams put reserve players in the run-on side, the most conspicuous being Jone Sorolo pushing Lautoka and Fiji captain Simione Tamanisau to the bench. Tamanisau took the field in the second half.

Meanwhile, the Fiji FA Board of Control has ruled that Levuka Football Association be relegated to associate membership.

Fiji FA CEO Bob Kumar said the decision was based on the fact that Levuka had not held an AGM this year and did not have an active club competition.
