Nasinu tops B.O.G Premier Division

Nasinu is the Premier Division champion of the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants at Lautoka’s Churchill Park after beating Taveuni 2-1 in the final.

Goals from Navinesh Akash and Kaushik Kumar in 3rd and 27th minutes of the first half gave Nasinu the victory and the $1000 prizemoney.

Melvin Kumar pulled one back for Taveuni in the dying stages of the match. Taveuni walked away with $500 for their effort.

Nasinu coach Allen Jesoni saluted his boys after the game, saying they had worked hard throughout the tournament. He said the focus would now switch to the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League and the promotion-relegation series.

Taveuni progressed to the final after beating Vatukoula 3-1 in yesterday’s semi-finals, while Nasinu overcame a game Tailevu-Naitasiri side 2-0.
