Is it true that a second casino is being mooted for Suva? Dickie Bird said that work had already started but somehow it came to an abrupt end because of some disagreements but talks are still ongoing.
Interestingly Dickie Bird spoke of a mine prospect somewhere past Lami Town.
It was leased many, many years ago by an Australian miner who saw it as a potential site. But he died shortly after that while taking a holiday in Australia.
He had a Fijian friend who lived in one of the villages near Lami who knew about this site but kept it quiet. Only last year he began telling a few old mates about it before he passed away later in the year.
According to Dickie Bird a few people who are interested are hoping to visit the place soon and to see whether the pegs used for marking the boundaries are still there.
Word on the grapevine is that a major reshuffle looms in one of the country’s prominent companies.
They say that changes are going to be made from top to bottom. Whether it’s true or not is yet to be confirmed. But Dickie Bird said recent movement of staff within that organisation has led to that belief.
Man who has already done time on a corruption charge seemed to be feeling the pressure down at the Qarase trial. He seemed to want to take his frustrations out on those from the news media who had cameras.
Does he have reason to be on edge?
