Fijiana coach Elenoa Kunatuba believes they still have a chance to make the top three in the Oceania Women’s Rugby World Cup qualifier.
This was after the Fijiana went down to New Zealand 19-7 in their last pool match at Churchill Park,Lautoka  yesterday.
It was hard fought match for Fijiana as they proved critics wrong and almost upset the Kiwis.
Kunatuba applauded the girls for their performance and said there are still some areas they will need to improve.
Fiji earlier beat Tonga 45-0 and Cook Islands 36-7.
“In our first two games the girls were taking the ball out wide which was not our plan,”she said.
“Our first two games against Cook Islands and Tonga was physical but I salute the girls for hanging on till the final whistle,” Kunatuba said.
She said they have talked about their shortfalls before they face Samoa today.
“The girls have done their own analyzing and have identified their own mistakes and we are confident of a good game against Samoa,” Kunatuba.
Fiji plays Samoa in the Cup quarterfinals at 12:44pm today.
