SDL: Qarase is still Party leader

The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) Party has reassured its members and supporters that former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase is still their leader.
This was announced in a statement by the party last night after Qarase was jailed for 12 months.
This was confirmed by party president Solomoni Naivalu.
He also said the party would continue as normal despite circumstances surrounding Qarase.
Mr Naivalu said office bearers would continue to administer the affairs of the party. The officers were elected during the 2008 annual general meeting.

President – Solomoni Naivalu
Vice-President- Dona Tokalaiyale
They have been assisted by senior executives who are responsible for the administrative and daily organisational affairs of the party.
Meanwhile, the party is expected to make its submission to the Constitution Review Commission.
