People can now access their credit reports from the Data Bureau using Vodafone Fiji’s mobile money transfer platform – M-PAiSA.
Data Bureau general manager, Delors Elliot, said the service would allow anyone in Fiji to access their own credit report via the internet and a convenient means to pay without the need to travel to its office.
“The credit reports are not normally viewed by the customers and it is in this regard that we wanted to provide them an avenue to enable them to view their reports without having to come to our office,” Ms Elliot said.
The Data Bureau operates the Credit Bureau which provides its members information on their customer’s credit history that assists them in making informed decisions.
It helps businesses reduce default rates and bad debt through a better credit access screening process for credit clients.
“The fee payable to access a credit report is $20. We have now enabled M-PAiSA as a convenient payment option to make the payment required to get the credit report,” Ms Elliot said.
“Once the customer’s verification process is cleared the report is sent via email to the customer within 24 hours.”
Head of Vodafone value added services and corporate affairs, Shailendra Prasad said: “Data Bureau serves an important function in the credit payment ecosystem.
There are currently around 390,000 customers currently registered with M-PAiSA.
