National reps Unaisi Rauluni and Taufa Taga were rewarded for their effort during the NewWorld Suva Netball Association awards night.
Rauluni, who played for the Fiji Sports Council grabbed the rising star female player of the year while Taufa Taga scooped the 2012 female netball player.
National Under- 21 coach Moape received the coach of the year award while former national coach Gabirieli Qoro walked away with the best technical official of the year award.
The Lomaiviti team was crowned the team of the year with CBM being runners up in the competition.
Suva Netball president Ruby Ann Sorovaki says Rauluni, as the Rising Star recipient, has been outstanding in her performance as a player for her club, the association and at national level
“At her age she exudes a lot of confidence and is consistent in her game,”Sorovaki said.
“Taufa Taga as Player of the Year is a shining example of how persistence, commitment and hard work pays off. She has trialled many times at national level but has never been deterred.. She had set her goal from joining CBM as a young school girl to one day represent Fiji and she is now reaping the benefits.
“Suva has had an enjoyable and successful 2012 season. We are looking forward to a successful outing at this year’s National Championships and the respective team coaches are working hard at ensuring each team performs.”
