Vunikoro rugby team received a major boost ahead of their quarterfinal clash against Kasavu in the Naitasiri Rugby Union competition next week.
The Natuva Trophy champion comprises of players from Kinoya Village outside Suva.
Team manager Taniela Moli says the sponsorship by NPI, a company in Laucala Beach is a major boost for them.
The company donated $2860 worth of rugby gear to the team yesterday.
The team survived the last five challenges retaining the Natuva Trophy and is hopeful of a good outing against Kasavu next weekend.
Moli thanked the company for sponsoring them as they have been facing financial constraints for the past weeks.
“This will boost the performance and morale of our players. Most of these players are unemployed and this will really assist them.”
