Electronic voter registration (EVR) clerks were on their toes registering citizens yesterday at the Yatu Lau Arcade in Suva.
EVR clerk, Sowane Puamau, said that they had finished registering people from the Lau Group and it was their first week at the Yatu Lau Arcade.
“We were suppose to work only until Wednesday but people kept coming in to get registered so we had to extend our registration for a few more days,” he said.
Mr Puamau said the number of people pouring in to get registered from Monday kept increasing.
This, he said, was a good sign that people were adhering to the call of Government to get registered.
Mr Puamau said according to his knowledge, EVR clerks around the country have been paid their wages.
