SPOTLIGHT ON RUNWAY

Don’t expect flights to Labasa’s Waiqele airport by main domestic airline Pacific Sun until Airports Fiji Limited gets the runway fixed to a standard Pacific Sun is sure is safe.
Pacific Sun is not satisfied with the repair work done on the runway despite Airports Fiji Limited saying the airport is ok and open again.
One worry is loose bits of runway surface flying into ATR42-500 engines, causing engine failure as a plane climbs up from the airport.
With Pacific Sun not budging on safety grounds, the spotlight is now back on Airports Fiji Limited.
