Calvin wins Courts chess

Calvin Prasad won the Courts Fiji Open Chess Championship at Pasifika Campus in Suva yesterday.
This was Prasad’s fourth major tournament win in 2012.
Prasad recently came back after representing  Fiji in the Chess Olympiad in Istanbul,Turkey.
“I am happy to win this championship,” Prasad said.
“This was the second victory in this tourney and I am happy to win.”
Fiji Chess Federation president Dr Virgilio De Asa was happy with overall performance.
“The competition was a success as we have 25 players who competed in this championship.
“Prasad won the A-grade title as he played well throughout.
“We have lots of support from our sponsor, players and the fans to make this championship a success.”
Manoj Kumar came second in the A-grade.
Keez Terubea won the B-grade, Sila Vukikomoala won the Secondary schools grade and Jacky Masilomani won the Primary schools grade titles.
