People should not panic and continue their work despite numerous bomb threats in Suva this week.
Speaking from his chiefly village in Somosomo, Taveuni, Defence Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau said members of the public should not bow down to any prank calls that normally puts fear into people’s lives.
Ratu Epeli’s comment came following two bomb threats that occurred in Suva City this week.
Earlier this week Police had to vacate Suva Central after receiving phone calls that a bomb was in the hotel.
Yesterday, another call was made to the TFL National Stadium which disrupted the Chow Games which is currently underway.
He said the Government was in control and the nation’s welfare was paramount.
“We will get to the bottom of these death threats,” he said.
Ratu Epeli said investigations would be carried out and those people involved would be taken to task.
He said people who made prank calls did not realise how serious the issues were and the disaster it created.
Ratu Epeli said there were some people who still did not agree with current leaders and they would always intervene with the stability of the Government.
He said bomb threats and death threats were not something new, because they had gone through a lot since the beginning of the year.
He assured members of the public that they would do their best to avoid such incidents happening in the future.
Ratu Epeli said people should continue with their work and not be carried away with such incidents that could hinder their achievements.
