A supermarket in Narere, Nasinu was robbed of a bag containing $29,000 cash yesterday morning.
Staff and customers of New World Supermarket in Narere were allegedly threatened with stones by three masked men at about 11am.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the bag of cash was in the store's office.
Nobody was hurt during the robbery.
The group then escaped in a stolen vehicle.
Sergeant Tevita said the vehicle used in the robbery was allegedly stolen from an earlier robbery in Samabula.
“The Honda CRV used in the robbery was stolen from a Samabula shop at about 10am. Two masked men robbed a shop of $14,000 cash in three currencies, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia,” Sergeant Tevita said.
“They allegedly stole some jewellery as well as the keys to the Silver Grey Honda CRV registration number EZ 172.”
Police are calling on members of the public to come forward if they see the vehicle anywhere.
“The sooner we find the vehicle the sooner we will catch these robbers,” Sergeant Tevita added.
