Muslim IDC all set for September

The Vanua Levu Muslim Sports Association will have its Inter-district Championship (IDC) tournament at Subrail Park, Labasa, from September 20-29.
This was confirmed yesterday by the tournament’s chairperson Aiyub Khan.
The Association, a sports wing of Macuata Muslim League has secured Digicel as the major sponsor of the 10- day tournament.

“There will be 13 teams in the Premier division and 12 teams in the Super Premier division,” Khan said.
The defending champions of the Premier division is Bua and Batinikama for the Super Premier.
Khan said money raised from the tournament would be diverted to the Labasa Muslim Primary School for the construction of two classrooms as part of its stage two project.
“The funds collected last year from the tournament was used for the construction of stage one, which is still in progress,” he said.
Khan said team registration would start in August.
